Pewit Hall Farm - Track Livery
an ALTERNATIVE LIVERY OPTION, ALLOWING HORSES TO RETURN TO A MORE NATURAL WAY OF LIVING.
Why Choose A Track System?
A track system is an alternative management of horses which restricts grazing and increases movement due to strategic placing of hay and water around a narrow ‘track’ along the outside of a paddock. This emulates how horses would go about their day to day lives in the wild, gearing towards a more natural and therefore, healthier environment which is species appropriate.
Track systems are suitable and successful in managing laminitis, PSSM, EMS, arthritis, barefoot transitioning – the list goes on. Our set up is ideal for horses who are grass sensitive.
Livery at Pewit Hall Farm is an alternative option for your horse allowing them to return to a more natural way of living. They are cared for as one of our own horses, 365 days a year, giving you the peace of mind and more importantly, allowing you to enjoy quality time with your horse on your visits.

What started Pewit Hall Farm - Track Livery?
We were devastatingly faced with the potential of early retirement of our 5 year old horse following a diagnosis of PSSM. The traditional livery yard set up didn’t suit her or her condition. Having access to forage 24/7, friends and movement were imperative to managing her condition and making her comfortable. The only option we were being faced with was her being isolated, either in a stable most of her time due to grass intolerance, or in a grass free paddock alone whilst the rest of the herd were turned out on grazing. She was bound to a lonely existence, and we refused to accept this was her only option. Horses are natural herd animals, and this management would have undoubtedly led to a rapid decline in her mental and physical wellbeing. This was simply not an option. That was the birth of Pewit Hall Farm – Track Livery.
